It's Handmade for the Holidays!

Our biggest show of the year has arrived! Every summer we scour the ceramics world for new artists to bring in, and hit up all your old favorites for their latest work. This year all that work has paid off with 33 fabulous artists in the gallery to meet all your fabulous holiday needs. But of course, it's a weird coronavirus world we're living in. We've got a few options to help make sure you stay safe while supporting these fabulous artists: 1) Shop online, pickup in-store. We’ve lovingly photographed just about every single thing in the store. Shop in your pjs, and even...

Lockdown Revisited

Welcome Back to Lockdown! Well, we can't say we didn't see this coming. New restrictions for Washington State mean we need to make some adjustments to our programs for the next month or so. Drop-in Sessions are on hold. If you reserved a spot, we've already refunded your booking. We'll open this program back up again as soon as restrictions are lifted. Clay Curious sessions are postponed. Unfortunately, even our limited-size classes are not allowed right now. But your registration is safe and sound, and we'll get you scheduled into the studio as soon as we can. If you'd rather...

Private Shopping on Small Business Saturday

If you're especially concerned about or vulnerable to COVID-19, we've got a special program just for you. It'll be just you, Sarah Steininger Leroux (Saltstone Ceramics owner and curator), and all the fantastic pottery and housewares you could hope for. While no social interactions can be guaranteed 100% safe, we're going to do everything we can...

COVID-19 Studio Policies

Now that we've re-opened the studio in a limited capacity, I thought it would be good to recap the policies and procedures we've put in place to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. Masks must be worn properly at all times in the studio. No exceptions. We offer contact-less sidewalk pickup for online orders if wearing a mask is a burden for you. We've upgraded our scheduling software to make sure there's a hard cap on the number of people who will be in the studio at any one time. We're regularly checking in with staff and members to make sure the...

Empty Bowls for Black Lives Matter

Join us for a Live Remote Empty Bowls AuctionSupporting Black Lives Matter King County! July 7th at 5pm on Instagram Live @saltstoneceramics and @phipottery In partnership with Saltstone Ceramics' instructor and potter extraordinaire, Phi Le, we are hosting an Empty Bowls Auction to Support Black Lives Matter King County. Empty Bowl fundraisers have a long tradition in the ceramics community: folks gather for a simple dinner, and raise money for charity by buying the actual dinnerware they're using. We wish we could gather and fill our bowls together, but in our new socially-distant reality, we've replaced the communal soup with delicious...

Black Lives Matter

Sarah Steininger Leroux

Black Lives Matter
This past week has been a powerful one. We’ve been watching, learning and participating as some of the hundreds of thousands who attended protests around the country. We have added our voices to those who stand up for not just black people’s lives, but black people’s voices, contributions, and liberation.
