Artist Statement

As an artist I Strive to transcend the binary between pottery and sculpture by creating work that blends the two. The forms I create are derived from objects of interest that I encounter throughout my life. I break these objects down to their essential lines and shapes then build them back up into functional pots, so that the pot contains the essence of its origin but still serves a practical purpose. About the work

In addition to my usual batch of funky mugs, I'm most excited about the trinket dishes that I sent Saltstone for the Holiday Show. Each one feels like a little clay sketch, and they were a fun exercise in pattern and form.
