8 Week Pottery Course

Our classes are a great way to get creative in a fun, relaxing atmosphere. In each class you might practice throwing on the wheel, build a pot from hand, or explore different glaze techniques. Our curriculum is lightly structured to allow our students to explore their new skills at a comfortable pace.

These classes are great for both beginners and intermediate throwers. Everyone gets lots of practice time: enrolled students get free access to the studio just about any time we're open.

Classes are three hours long. After 8 weeks, you'll end the session with a cool new skill and a bunch of pottery you made yourself!

Adult classes are open to everyone 16 years of age or older.

Registration for Winter 2019 classes is full, as are the wait lists.

The Spring semester of 8-week classes will begin the week of April 1st and run through the week of May 24th. Classes are offered in the evenings, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We also have two morning classes, from 9:30am to 12:30pm, that are offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Registration for Spring 2019 classes will begin March 1st at noon. In the meantime, we have lots of other ways for you to get your hands dirty:

  • Take a workshop! We have workshops for absolute beginners as well as folks with more experience. Workshops are typically one or two days and focus on a specific pottery skill.

  • Take a private lesson! Try your hand at wheel throwing in a fun, relaxing environment. Private lessons are for one or two people and you get one of our delightful instructors all to yourself!

  • Take one of our one-night classes! Friday Date Night and Saturday Clay Curious run once per month and give you a taste of our full 8-week experience.

Eight-week classes are $400. This fee includes:

  • Warm, friendly instruction from a professional potter. (Meet our instructors!)

  • 24 hours of class time (eight, three-hour sessions)

  • weekly open studio sessions for you to practice whenever it is convenient

  • bisque and glaze firings for all your creations

A materials fee of about $20 is collected at the first class, which covers a bag of clay and glazes to match. You should bring a standard set of ceramics tools (we’ll have some for sale at the studio) and a towel.
