Fermentation Crock and Kimchi Workshop - Sun Jan 13 and Jan 27, 12pm
with Phi Le
This workshop is for intermediate to advanced wheel throwers. Come learn to make fermented goodness with potter, Phi Le. Along with loving pottery, he also loves good ol’ homemade everything. On the first day of the workshop, Phi will show you how to prepare a wonderful kimchi you will take home with you that day. While that recipe starts to do its fermentation magic, Phi will demonstrate how to throw a lidded crock, for when you make your own batch of kimchi at home. Please note, your special crock can be used for anything fermented. Pickles, sauerkraut, and mustard are some of Phi’s other favorites and recipes will be included. Workshop participants will be responsible for coming into the studio between workshop dates to trim their pots and lids within a week of the first day to allow time for firing the pots. Return on the second workshop day to glaze your work and eat some pickled goodies!
This is a two-day workshop: 12pm - 4pm on Sunday January 13; 12pm - 2pm on Sunday January 27.
