Spring Beginner Hand-building: Monday Mornings, 9:30-12:30, April 1st - May 20th 2019
We offer weekly pottery classes at our studio in the Wallingford neighborhood in Seattle in eight-week blocks. Each class session is three hours long. During the eight-week Hand-building class you can expect to learn how to make basic forms using pinching, coil-building, and soft and hard slab-building techniques as well as how to trim or finish hand-built work, make and attach handles, and different surface decoration and glaze techniques. You will end the block with a cool new skill and some pottery you made yourself! Our hand-building class is designed for beginners, but everyone is welcome. While essential studio equipment is provided, you will need to purchase your own tool kit and clay - more information will be provided prior to the start of class.
While we HIGHLY recommend that you attend all sessions in a series in order to get the most out of the class, we also understand that you may need to miss a class. There will be many opportunities to make up missed classes during open studio sessions. If this is your first time at our studio, please make sure you are able to attend your first class date.
This class is taught by Laura Skiles-Bundy.
