Hand-built Planters and Plant Hangers Virtual Workshop with Sarah Steininger Leroux and Ashley Campbell: May 8th, 1pm - 5pm
With Sarah Steininger Leroux and Ashley Campbell
Have you gone all in on the houseplant craze? Do you have more plant babies than you have pots to put them in? We’re here for you! In this virtual workshop you can make your own ceramic planter and a hanger to put it in.
Sarah Steininger Leroux will lead students in making a medium-sized stoneware planter using coil and pinch hand-building techniques.
Professional fiber artist Ashley Campbell will teach gorgeous macrame techniques so students can hang their planters in style.
A virtual workshop can be a great, socially distant way to spend some time with your mom or a mom-like figure for Mother's Day!
This workshop is appropriate for all levels of experience with clay and is open to students 13 and older.
All tools and materials are included in the cost of the class. The material kit includes:
- Serrated steel rib
- Rubber rib

- 60 feet of rope for hanger
- Wooden ring for hanger
- 5 lbs cone 6 stoneware clay
- Bisque and glaze firings as well as glaze service. Must be able to bring finished planter to our shop in Seattle. If you do not live in the Seattle area, we will help you find another facility to have your finished work fired.
