Psychedelic Inlay Cups with Kelsey Ayala, July 15th, 12pm-3pm
Love the vintage feel of the 70's? Learn to make your own custom psychedelic cups with Kelsey Ayala in this slab built inlay cups Workshop!
In this workshop you will be working with white and colored clay and using Kelsey's personal inlay and nerikomi techniques to create your own illustrations, collages, or patterns on clay! You will be taught how to roll out slabs, cut out designs using exacto knives, and practice the techniques from above to create your own unique 70's inspired work.
Workshop will be in-person hosted at Saltstone Ceramics in the Wallingford Neighborhood of Seattle.
This workshop is appropriate for all levels of experience with clay and is open to students 15 and older.
Note from the Artist:
"I specialize in handmade and one of a kind ceramics including the Nerikomi style of pottery which is the art of coloring clay and then marbling it into patterns. Everything is made by me in my home studio! Ceramics are inspired by colors in nature, places I’ve traveled, mid century modern aesthetic, rock and roll, and 70’s vibes. Color palettes and patterns are also drawn from psychedelic experiences and vintage patterns. Inspiration can be found everywhere, and in my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, swimming, traveling, seeing live music, vintage shopping, and trying new restaurants. I teach intimate handbuilding and nerikomi workshops out of my home studio in Seattle. I am passionate about creating and love how you can just find peace and let the time pass you by while playing with clay. I love seeing what my students create and seeing how much joy it brings others to learn this technique!"
Workshop registration is time/class-specific and is non-refundable. We no longer provide refunds for COVID-19. If you can't attend your workshop, we encourage you to give your spot to a friend.
