Making a Hanging Planter with Sarah Steininger Leroux, March 11th, 2pm-5pm.
Have you gone all in on the houseplant craze? Do you have more plant babies than you have pots to put them in? We’re here for you!
Join Sarah Steininger Leroux as she teaches you in to make your own ceramic planter and rope hanger. Using coil and pinch techniques, Sarah will lead students in making a medium-sized stoneware planter.
While the planters are drying a bit, students will learn a few simple knots to make a rope hanger that they can attach after the planter is fired. If there is time left over, students will be able to decorate their planters with slip or carving.
Workshop will be in-person hosted at Saltstone Ceramics in the Wallingford Neighborhood of Seattle.
This workshop is appropriate for all levels of experience with clay and is open to students 15 and older.
The materials will be provided on-site. All firing services are include in cost, and instructor will glaze your pieces in a clear for you.
