Surface Dishes: Slips, Sgrafitto and Stencils with Alison Kan Grevstad and Brianna Fox, November 12th, 12pm-4pm
In this class you will learn several techniques for surface decoration on pottery. Guided by your instructors, Brianna Fox and Alison Kan Grevstad, you will come away from this workshop with several hand-built dishes decorated with your creativity.
During this class, you will learn how to use underglazes, slips and sgraffito to create your own unique images on clay. Students are encouraged to bring ideas of an image or pattern they’d like to apply to their work.
Workshop will be in-person hosted at Saltstone Ceramics in the Wallingford Neighborhood of Seattle.
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, but recommended for students 15 years and older. Materials and firing are included in the class fee.
With a shared passion for surface decoration, Alison Kan Grevstad and Brianna Fox (a Bird + a Bee) make and show their work together in the Seattle area. Influences from nature often make their way into their work.
