Are you interested in getting your hands muddy and learning the basics of wheel thrown pottery? This class will offer adolescents a great opportunity to practice creating their own 3D works of art on the pottery wheel. The pottery wheel is a great way for youth to use art as a way to express themselves.

This whole-body creative effort will give your teen an engaging and exciting new skill that will keep them occupied for the weekend. Students will create a final piece that we will fire and finish for them.

Tommy is a musician, dancer, and artist who is thrilled to be in the Seattle ceramics world after years of working in the ceramics lab at Ohio State University. They love novelty and functionality in ceramics, and love converting ideas from all other facets of life into ceramics projects. Tommy’s ceramic art is heavily influenced by their experience working on farms, in communes, and living in forests around the world. They want their ceramics to be usable and delightful. Outside of work, they love board games, rock climbing, drinking tea, and trying to learn new musical instruments.

This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, but recommended for students 12-17 years old.

This Workshop will be in-person hosted at Saltstone Ceramics in the Wallingford Neighborhood of Seattle. No prior clay experience needed as this workshop will cater to all skill levels. The materials will be provided on-site. All firing services are included in cost, and the studio will glaze your pieces in a clear for you.

Workshop registration is time/class-specific and is non-refundable. We no longer provide refunds for COVID-19. If you can't attend your workshop, we encourage you to give your spot to a friend.
