Charcuterie Platters: Surface Decoration with Alison Grevstad and Brianna Fox, July 8th from 12pm to 4pm
In this class you will learn several techniques for surface decoration on pottery. Guided by your instructors, Brianna Fox and Alison Kan Grevstad, you will come away from this workshop with your very own charcuterie platter decorated with your creativity.
During this workshop you’ll enjoy snacking on charcuterie while learning how to use underglazes, slips and sgraffito to create your own unique images on clay. Students are encouraged to bring ideas of an image or pattern they’d like to apply to their work.
Workshop will be in-person hosted at Saltstone Ceramics in the Wallingford Neighborhood of Seattle.
With a shared passion for surface decoration, Alison Kan Grevstad and Brianna Fox (a Bird + a Bee) make and show their work together in the Seattle area. Influences from nature often make their way into their work.
This workshop is appropriate for all levels of experience with clay and is open to students 15 years and older.
The materials will be provided on-site. All firing services are included in cost, and instructor will glaze your pieces in a clear for you.
