Ann Ruel owns and operates her own pottery studio, Little Street Pottery in Suffolk, Virginia. She has published numerous articles in Pottery Making Illustrated and taught pottery classes and workshops for the City of Norfolk. She continues to make custom pottery which illustrates stories unique to each individual. Her illustrations are a tribute to the tradition and dynamics of the family. In her own story, it has been the females of the family who have passed down their own traditions to the next generation based on their own unique talents. As her talent is creating pottery, she passes on her stories through this particular medium. She use birds, bees and other imagery to tell the stories passed down from previous generations. For several years now, she has been creating custom pottery to tell the unique stories for other people as well.
