Sculpting a Ceramic Flower Bouquet with Soe Yu Nwe - May 16th, 11-5
To welcome the long anticipated Seattle Spring, come make a lovely sculptural ceramic flower bouquet! We will explore making different types of ceramics flowers in various sizes and bloom, and constructing them all together into a bouquet form. We will use porcelain and white paper clay as well as ceramic underglazes to add color. This course will be taught by Soe Yu Nwe, an artist from Myanmar currently based in Seattle. Predominantly a sculptor, she loves making artwork that references growth, creativity and fertility.
This course is open to all skill levels. Previous experience in clay will be helpful, but is not necessary. This workshop is open to students 16 and older. There will be a lunch break - bring a sack lunch or visit one of the many restaurants in the neighborhood.
