Day 1 will be from 12-4pm, and day two from 12-5pm

Eva Funderburgh is a Seattle-based artist known for her emotive animal forms and unique imaginary creatures.

In this two-day workshop, you will learn her techniques for building her sculptures and make your own pair of monsters. The workshop will cover using multiple pinch pots to build creatures, along with tips for capturing move and emotion within your form.

Workshop will be in-person hosted at Saltstone Ceramics in the Wallingford Neighborhood of Seattle.

This workshop is appropriate for all levels of experience with clay and is open to students 18 and older.

Eva Funderburgh is a Seattle-based sculptor working in ceramic, bronze, and installation.  Born in Seattle, she grew up in Kansas before moving to Pittsburgh at age 16. She attended Carnegie Mellon University, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science and Art. In 2010, she was an artist in residence in Denmark at the Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center, an experience that inspired her to revisit her college installation work.  In 2015, she was part of the Seattle’s Office of Arts and Culture Public Art Boot Camp. She now teaches bronze casting part time at Pratt Fine Art Center, and is a full time sculptor working in public art, installation, ceramics, and cast bronze.

Note Eva Funderburgh's work is fired in a way our studio cannot accommodate.  Students can have the option of having Saltstone do a cone 6 clear, or taking the bisque ware home for atmospheric firing elsewhere.

The materials will be provided on-site. All firing services are included in the cost, and instructor will glaze your pieces in a clear for you.

Workshop registration is time/class-specific and is non-refundable. We no longer provide refunds for COVID-19. If you can't attend your workshop, we encourage you to give your spot to a friend.

If giving as a gift, please provide the contact information for the recipient in the purchase form.
