Organic Arches with Caitlin McIver, June 22nd from 12-4pm
Ever dreamed of including graceful arches in your ceramic creations, yet found yourself uncertain about overcoming the challenge of gravity? In this class, we’ll gain confidence using hand building techniques pushing clay’s structural limits!
By the end of the workshop, you'll walk away with a completed sculptural piece, ready for the firing process. All necessary materials, along with glazing and firing services, are included.
This all-levels class is recommended for students 15 years and older. The pottery wheel will not be used in this workshop. Join us for a hands-on experience that promises to elevate your ceramics game!
"I'm a ceramic artist and instructor based in Seattle. My focus is on organic, abstract sculpture. My artistic process involves intuitive, improvised structures and references to nature, such as Utah’s arch canyons. Before becoming a ceramicist, I worked as an industrial designer and received a masters degree in industrial design from Pratt Institute.
I want to teach a hand building workshop dedicated to arches because I often hear that people are afraid to make unsupported structures. I enjoy giving students confidence to create without fear! I believe that anything you can dream, you can make. I want others to feel that freedom, too." - Caitlin McIver
Workshop registration is time/class-specific and is non-refundable. We no longer provide refunds for COVID-19. If you can't attend your workshop, we encourage you to give your spot to a friend.
