Morgan Jones is a self-proclaimed PNW girl on a quest to make everyday objects a lot more fun.
Morgan had the privilege of growing up on a remote island in the San Juans, and spending many days roaming forest, field and beach. She graduated with a degree in Forestry from the University of Washington and continues to work in the ecology field when she’s not in her studio or building her off-grid cabin in the islands. Morgan found pottery at the age of 28, after dabbling with many other art mediums. Working with clay just clicked and fed her desire to build and capture little moments in nature to be enjoyed for later use.
Morgan’s style is identifiable by her organically inspired hand carved stamps and sprig molds. She loves to create a story behind her designs. Some examples of that are barnacle imprints taken off dock floats in her favorite boatyard and a stamp she carved of the channel marker that she passed by so many times as a child in her family’s 1937 wood sailboat.
