Every year our jurors select four Mug Madness entrants to be alternates -- two for each team. The alternates send in their mugs to be ready just in case there's a mishap or miscommunication and one of the regular Mug Madness Mugs can't participate. Well, this year all 64 mugs made it, and we didn't need to call on the alternates.
