Join us on Instagram Live on Monday, February 28th at 5:30pm for our annual Mug Madness preview sale! Normally this is a fantastic in-person celebration at the studio, but this year things are going to be a little different: the party is going virtual and online!

The Party

Sarah (Saltstone Ceramics Owner and Creative Director) and Steve (Mug Madness Tournament Director) will set up on Instagram with all 64 Mug Madness mugs, the alternates, juror mugs, Sarah's Spirit Squad, and all the other fantastic pottery in the gallery.... we'll have hundreds of gorgeous, unique mugs in the store with us!

Get a close look at the mugs, ask us questions, and enjoy the anticipation before Mug Madness kicks off on March 1st. Who do you think will take the crown and the $500 prize? Will the Mug Madness Champion come from Team Mert or Team Peña? And what kind of handle really is the most comfortable?

The Preview Sale

But this is more than just a party: it's a fundraiser!

Here's how it works: all the mugs will be available for purchase to the general public starting at 9am on Monday, March 1st. But if you want to get an early crack at the gorgeous Mug Madness collection, you can buy a preview ticket.

100% of all preview ticket sales will be donated charity. Last year we raised more than $1000! This year's charities are chosen by our two jurors.

Chris’s House is a ‘Centre of Help, Response and Intervention Surrounding Suicide’ that has been set up to offer a safe environment where people in, or approaching, suicidal crisis can have a safe place to go and get professional support.

For The Gworls is a Black, trans-led collective that curates parties to fundraise money to help Black transgender people pay for their rent, gender-affirming surgeries, smaller co-pays for medicines/doctor’s visits, and travel assistance.

There are three tiers of preview tickets available, depending on how badly you want the mug of your dreams:

Tier One: $100

Only three Tier One tickets will be available! With a Tier One ticket, you'll be able to shop the entire collection of mugs before the rest of the crowd. Tier One Access starts on Monday, February 28th at 6pm.

Tier Two: $50

There will be ten Tier Two tickets available. With a Tier Two ticket, you'll be able to shop the entire collection of mugs after/along with the Tier One folks, but before everyone else. Tier Two Access starts fifteen minutes after Tier One: Monday, February 28th at 6:15pm.

Tier Three: $20

For just $20 you can beat the general crowd! Tier Three tickets let you shop the full collection of mugs more than 14 hours before the general public: Monday, February 28th at 6:30pm.

Everybody Else: FREE

The Mug Madness collection will be available to the general public on the first day of Mug Madness: Tuesday, March 1st, at 9am.
