Clay Food Magnets with Sam Dodie, April 27th from 12-3pm
Come spend an afternoon in the studio and dive into the world of ceramic food! Sam is known for her food themed ceramics and is here to share her tips and tricks with the Saltstone community!
In this workshop you’ll learn basic hand building skills such as slab rolling, pinching, and coiling. Using a variety of clay bodies, you’ll apply these techniques to make your own miniature food sculptures. You’ll also be guided through the process of surface decoration and have the option to paint your pieces with underglazes and/or glazes.
By the end of the day, you’ll have a set of little food sculptures. Saltstone will fire and add magnets to your pieces for you after the workshop. Suitable for all skill levels but recommended for students 15 years and older. The materials will be provided on-site. All firing services are included in cost, and an instructor will glaze your pieces in a clear for you.
