Rosa Friedrichs

We're proud to present Rosa Friedrichs's work as part of our 2nd annual Queer and Dear show.

Rosa Friedrichs is a ceramic artist who lives in Asheville, North Carolina. Rosa creates functional pieces with a strong emphasis on surface design, mainly using the sgraffito technique. Her inspiration comes from experiences of embodied happiness like the smell of grapefruit and the first greens from the garden. She also makes mugs for and inspired by her experiences as part of the LGBTQ community. Her first “I’m gay” mug was created as a gift for a friend who was frustrated with people assuming she was straight.
