Join us for a hands-on two day mug making workshop led by a former production potter Cade Hollomon from East Fork Pottery. This class is designed for intermediate and experienced throwers who want to deepen their understanding of form, function, and the subtle art of crafting the perfect mug.

Over the course of this two-session workshop, you'll learn the foundational skills and design decisions that go into mug making; focusing on consistent throwing, comfortable handle attachment, and clean, balanced foot finishing. Drawing from years of production experience, your instructor will offer tips for efficiency, consistency, and comfort that you can bring to your personal studio practice.

You’ll leave with a set of functional mugs and a deeper appreciation for how form and repetition can support both creativity and utility.

A note from the artist:

"I formally worked at East Fork Pottery as a production potter. I have been pivoting my working life to teaching. I love teaching and making things with others and I hope to share what I know and help someone else utilize a new skill or method into their own making and creative expression."

This workshop is suitable for intermediate and advanced potters, but recommended for students 18+.

This Workshop will be in-person hosted at Saltstone Ceramics in the Wallingford Neighborhood of Seattle. The materials will be provided on-site. All firing services are included in cost, and the studio will glaze your pieces for you.

Workshop registration is time/class-specific and is non-refundable. We no longer provide refunds for COVID-19. If you can't attend your workshop, we encourage you to give your spot to a friend.

If giving as a gift, please provide the contact information for the recipient in the purchase form.
