Collection: City in Bloom Ceramics

I have been working in clay for over half my life - my interest in clay first sparked in high school, and I went to college originally for a degree in ceramics, but graduated with a marketing degree, determined that having a corporate job was the only path to financial stability. I began working at a local pottery studio when I was a sophomore, which is where I fell deeper in love with clay, the craft of making things, and the community ceramics can provide. I became a corporate girlie right out of college, but began teaching beginners pottery classes on the weekends and started the first draft of City in Bloom Ceramics. After being laid off during the first week of COVID lockdown, I decided to pursue ceramics full time for real - which has proven to take me down the path of financial stability, just not in the traditional sense. 

Today, I am still teaching beginners pottery classes (and some advanced classes, too!) - which brings me so much joy to share my love of clay with other people. Outside of teaching, I am a full-time working artist. I work with a lot of stores selling my wares wholesale, participating in local artist markets, and selling online. My focus is wheel throwing, specifically with a passion for all things surface decoration, underglaze, and screenprinting.
