Sage Wednesday (they/them/it) is a queer, transgender artist originally from Alberta. They completed their Visual Arts Diploma at Red Deer Polytechnic and a BFA at the University of Manitoba.
Wednesday combines graphic illustrations and bright colours with functional ceramics through printmaking on clay. Wednesday pulls visual design influence from traditional tattoo illustration, early uses of print media, and visual design elements of underground music culture.
Wednesday is an instructor and technician at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, and many other arts spaces in Winnipeg. Through its ceramic practice, Wednesday focuses on the creation of community around and through the usage of functional objects.
