TeeShanee Johnson

I draw inspiration from the sensory experiences of food, color, and sound. My work seeks to capture these elements in a tangible, tactile form that invites viewers to engage with them on a playful level. Food is not only a source of nourishment, but it also holds cultural significance and can evoke powerful memories and emotions. Through my ceramic work, I aim to capture the visual and tactile qualities of food, from the organic shapes of fruits and vegetables to the smooth, polished surfaces of functional ware. Color is another essential element in my work, and I am drawn to vibrant hues that express the energy and emotion of the world around us. From the rich, earthy tones of spices to the bright, bold shades of summer fruits, each color is carefully chosen to evoke a particular mood or feeling. Through my use of color, I aim to create a sense of visual harmony and balance, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty of the natural world. Finally, sound is a powerful force that shapes our experiences of the world around us. Sound has the ability to evoke powerful emotions and memories. In my ceramic work, I seek to capture the spirit of sound in a visual form, using texture, shape, and color to create a sense of movement and rhythm.
