Charcuterie Board Picnic Party with Unit65, May 25th from 12pm - 3pm
Join us in learning how to marble clay into a playful, picnic-inspired checkered pattern! This class will guide you through the process of creating a patterned clay block, which you'll then roll out into a slab and use to hand-form your very own charcuterie board. With guidance in Unit65’s signature style, you’ll explore techniques for achieving clean, bold patterns while shaping a functional and decorative piece.
Perfect for all skill levels, this workshop encourages creativity while building foundational hand-building skills. Whether you're a seasoned ceramicist or new to working with clay, you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind charcuterie board that’s both beautiful and practical—perfect for serving at your next gathering!
A note from the artist "My studio and work draws inspiration from things like life experiences, traveling, and music. Clays are made from scratch and colored by hand before drying them out and marbling meticulously into patterns. Every batch tells a unique story and no two pieces are alike. The only thing more fun than creating is sharing my love of art with others!" - Kelsey Ayala
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, but recommended for students 18+.
This Workshop will be in-person hosted at Saltstone Ceramics in the Wallingford Neighborhood of Seattle. No prior clay experience needed as this workshop will cater to all skill levels. The materials will be provided on-site. All firing services are included in cost. Greenware pieces will be bisque fired, clear-glazed, and glaze fired after the workshop day.
