Printmaking on Clay, February 8th, 12pm - 3:30pm

Learn how to screen print your favorite drawings, designs or patterns onto clay. In this workshop we will explore how to screen print designs directly onto clay, create transfers and layer prints to create a cohesive design. The results lend themselves well to clean crisp designs and repeat imagery without a headache. We'll be applying this technique to projects such as coasters, wall hangings or mugs for the truly ambitious!

The instructor will prepare the screens ahead of time with student artwork as well as some practice designs. The class will focus on using the screens to print on clay and not the preparation of the screens. We are happy to talk about the process but it does require a dark room! Students will be asked to submit designs for the screens, if they want, via email in January. 

This course is open to all skill levels. Previous experience in clay will be helpful, but is not necessary. This workshop is open to students 16 and older.
